With its engineering pedigree dating back to 1790, Whessoe has developed its technical
excellence by working for the oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, nuclear, water, power
and offshore industries, with specialist expertise in the storage and handling of liquid
gases in both refrigerated and pressurized form.

LNG Terminals |
| |
|
From the world's first commercial LNG import terminal and regasification
plant at Canvey Island, UK, built in 1962, to the UK's new LNG import terminal
at the Isle of Grain, Whessoe has had continuous involvement in the LNG
industry.
Our engineers were part of the team that designed and built the Canvey
Island LNG terminal and have coordinated a number of the original patents for
the LNG storage industry. They continue to sit on code committees that drive
the LNG industry forward towards technical excellence.

LPG Projects |
 |
| |
|
Whessoe has experience in the storage and handling of LPG in both its
refrigerated and pressurized state.
Refrigerated LPG storage is normally used in association with bulk
shipping and storage tanks of up to 100,000m3.
Pressurized storage is being more widely used in both spherical and
mounded options. For a number of reasons (environmental, operating,
technical) mounded storage is the only solution allowed in many countries.

Ethylene & Ethane |
| |
|
With similar technical requirements to LNG the storage and handling of
ethylene has long been a specialty of Whessoe. Over a period of 40 years
Whessoe has been responsible for the supply of 40 Ethylene tanks and 26
Ethylene terminals.

FEED Studies |
 |
| |
|
Front End Engineering Design (FEED) Studies are an important specialist
area for Whessoe, providing the opportunity to develop concepts through to
the EPC bid stage. Our FEED group is experienced in developing Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) submissions on behalf of our US Clients.
